Norwegian lobster (Nephrops norvegicus)

Appearance: The Norwegian Lobster is far smaller than the Lobster. It is pale red, and on the upper back one can see different kinds of marks. Many refer to them as letters. Compared to the Lobster, the Norwegian lobster also has two long claws.
Length: Between ca. 13 cm and ca. 21 cm

The Norwegian lobster lives on the bottom of the sea, at 40 - 250 metres depth, and prefers a soft, soil bottom to hide in. The females spawn every second year, between Mars and November, and carry the eggs with their tail. The Norwegian lobster feeds on microscopically spices that live on the ocean bottoms, worms and shellfish.
