Ray

Appearance: Piggskate (Ray) has a long and thin tale with two tail fins. The breast fins are big, and form a disc. The mouth and gills are underneath the disk, and eyes are located close in the middle of upper surface. Additionally, adults have large "buckler" thorns with swollen bases scattered on upper surface. The upper surface is very variable, al shades of brown, variegated with dark and light spots and blotches occur. The underside is white.

Piggskate is located on sand and sand-rock bottoms. They can be at least 20 years old, and they have a distinct pairing with embrace. Piggskate feed on crabs, shrimps, small flatfish, Coalfish and others.
