Salmon (Salmo salar)

Appearance: Salmon can easily be mixed up with Sea trout. However, it stands out by its longer and slimmer tale fin, fewer dark spots underneath the middle of it side, and the little cleft in the tail fin. The colure varies with age, sex and environment.
Length: Up to ca. 150 cm
Weight: Female: can be up to ca. 15 kgMale: can be up to ca. 30 kgNormal size 3 - 10 kg

The Salmon spawn in freshwater, but lives most of its life in the ocean. The spawning happens during autumn, when the Salmon has returned to the river it was born. In Norway you can find Salmon all along the coast and in main rivers. Salmon (adults) feed on squids, shrimps and fish.
