Deep water prawn / Shrimp (Pandalus borealis)

Appearance: The colour of a Deep water prawn is pink-red.
Length Ca. 7 - 10 cm

There are around 50 different types of prawns. The Deep water prawn is located at the bottom of the ocean, 50-500 metres depth, at 0-8°C. The prawn is first of the male gender, then at the age between 2 ½ -4 years it changes sex to female. During autumn the prawns mate.
